Just read this found it interesting:
"24" May Elect Female President
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Producers on Fox's "24" are contemplating a female president on the show next season, a decision that could foreshadow real-life events if Hillary Clinton gets the Democratic presidential nod.
The real-time thriller has been popular among Washington's elite, including former president Bill Clinton. He recently said it was one of his favorite shows "even though an uber-right-wing guy writes it." He was referring to "24" co-creator Joel Surnow, an outspoken Republican.
While "24" broke ground introducing the first black president on a TV series (Dennis Haysbert), the show would not be the first to have a female president. In the past few years, ABC's "Commander in Chief" and Fox's "Prison Break" both featured women in the Oval Office.
Sources stressed that no final decision has been made on the role of the president next season and that the "24" creative team ultimately might opt to go in another direction.

She was pretty boring... but I wouldn't be surprised, she's the only Palmer that hasn't been in office yet.
But I don't think it will be her, she didn't have a very strong character, or a main role either. |

I don't ever want to see a Palmer again. I hope Wayne is dead. Karen would be amazing as president but I really don't want a political storyline in S7. |

I agree, political storylines make are boring, but the Palmers were excellent presidents, they were about the only people that listened to Jack when no one else did. |

Though since it's a female president it leaves open a lot of possible storylines about 'radicals' and 'patriots' trying to get her out of office because she's a women and doesn't know what she's doing.
I would've preferred a Male president. They're better at the "We will not give in to their demands' type speeches. |
