PS3 vs XBOX 360

A hotly debated topic, which is better? why? do you have either one? best games?

I don't really know anything about the PS3
Xbox 360 is better. You get achievements, gamer score, market place, friends list, MSN.
Yes i have one.
Best games are Halo 3, PGR 4, next week GTA IV, Test Drive Unlimited. Oh and as a mess about game i like Thrillville.

I prefer the Xbox 360 for the simple reason that I do not have a PS3.

I have heard that PS3's aren't worth the money anyway.

I've only got a 360 as well but I'd take a 360 over PS3.

So i can see its a clearly 360 view here. First of all theclockisticking, i confused your description with that of a pc, if i want to go on msn and talk to and meet friends i will usa a computer. A console is for gaming, which is exacytly what the ps3 does. It has the brilliant graphics, Playstation store where you can download video, games, game accessories. It has the same online play as 360 on most games (call of duty 4), but has better games. All xbox gamers ever talk about is halo, whereas ps3 has resistance fall of man, assasins creed, GTA as well as the 360, MGS4, and more importantly a blu ray player built in. The quality of which is far superior than dvd and hd dvd. Also the ps3 can link up with any of the pc's/laptops in your house, so you can watch videos, listen to music and look at all the pictures from ur computer. So if you want the ultimate entertainment package you will get the ps3, if you want a knock off of a computer, get a Xbox 360.

You can obviusly see where i stand lol.

For all of what i said, i think its worth it. Also seeing as Xbox might be releasing a seperate blu ray player, which would be another £300.

I'd suggest you make this a poll, it would be easier to find out.

I myself am an Xbox 360 fan. I love my 360 and wouldn't trade it for anything. I got wicked scared this morning because I turned my 360 on and I got the Red Ring of Death and started flipping out, but then I restarted my console and it was fine. Other than that I don't mind paying the $50 a year for the Xbox Live. Fun stuff, if you don't have a 360, get one!

Mike, i hate to break it to you but in a few days I'm pretty sure you'll get the ring permanently.

I've heard that you can restart it the first time but within a few days it will come back.

firstly let me say that even though i have a 360 i think that both consoles are good and you would'nt b dissapointed with either. however i prefer the 360 for these reasons:
1.i only have 1 friend with a PS3 the rest have 360's
2.even though PS3 online is free £40 a year is pretty good
3.IMO the 360 has better games - halo 3, gears of war 1 + 2, bioshock(coming on PS3 much later), fable 2 and many more. although i will admit the ps3 has great games such as resistance 1+2, MGS4, little big planet and more.
4.the 360 is cheaper
5. 360 has wider range of games
6. better online experience
btw this is just my opinion
oh and bauerhour assassin's creed and GTA4 are both on the xbox and the 360 can also connect to your computer via windows media player and you can play your music etc.
also my friend with the ps3 has the same ipod as me and when he plugs his in to his ps3 it doesn't work while when i plug my ipod into my xbox i can play my music.
end of discussion.

I have a ps3 and I do like it, but I don't really know which is better. The only reason I bought a ps3 is because of free online haha.

I would say the ps3 because it has blu-ray way better graphic capabilitys and a free internet service. Also they ps3 is going to support 3D blu-ray and 3D gaming when they come out next year. Like the 3D technology they used for avatar.

haha omg such a typical xbox fan boy answer i dont know alot about the other one...BUT I LOVE XBOX EVEN THOUGH IT SUCKS.

I'd say the xBox 360 is better because of it's online gaming interface. It's so easy to use and so popular that almost every game with xBox Live capabilities has populated servers at all times. Plus there are some games only for xBox that area really great, such as the Halo series. I've been playing the new COD a lot on xBox live.

PS3 will win the console war, no doubt.. Xbox 360 and Wii are so weak from technological point of view, that in couple of years they won't be capable of dealing with serious graphics. thus PS3!.. Smile

PS3 all the way, but when this thread was created back in 2008, XBOX was superior.

Since then, PS3 has had a TON of great exclusives come out.. heavy rain, god of war 3, mod nation racers....

Also, PS3 didn't have trophies back then, and now they do to match the achievments on XBOX. I also like trophies better since there is a platinum trophy for when you get all the other ones.

Also, @ E3 this June, Sony will probably announce PSN+ which will be a paid service like the xbox, granting early access to demos, free PS1 classics, and other things. Everything that is free on the PS3 right now, will remain free though. So you won't need to pay to play online, just to get some extra benefits.
