Ideas to bring back 24 for Season 9!

OK, so we know that Season 8 of 24 will possibly be the last season ever. And of course, I for one do not want 24 to end just yet. 24 has been known of comprising 'trilogies', and the third trilogy will not be completed without a ninth season.

Let's face it: 24 has a lot of loose ends that need to be tied up before the show's demise. A ninth season gives 24 more time to answer those unanswered questions.

Also, if Fox stated 24's ninth season would be the last, this would allow the 24 crew to create an entire season leading up to the end. Having Season 8 being the last season doesn't do the show justice, as they would have to wrap it up quickly, and this wouldn't satisfy the fans would it?

I predict Fox will renew 24 after all it still dominates in the ratings and has the second-highest advertising revenue for a TV show, after American Idol.

Kiefer has stated that he would be willing to do a ninth season if Howard came to him with a great idea. We can help give him a great idea to keep 24 going! I thought of a basic story arc, and I get excited just thinking about it.

24 is famous for bringing back old characters right? Tony for Season 7 and now Charles Logan for Season 8. So how about Martha for Season 9? It would be perfect - Jean Smart has finished Samantha Who so it is likely she would be available, and her acting talent is incredible, being nominated for an emmy for the role in Season 5 & 6. If she returned, another emmy nod would be very likely I'd say.

Martha & Aaron's fate is currently unknown and bringing these two back would allow us to find out what happened between them. My basic flush out is Jack breaking Martha out of a psychiatric facility. Imagine it, the tantrums, the great acting, the intensity.

Now why would Jack need to do this? Maybe he needs her to help stop a terrorist threat, by getting information only she can retrieve because of being married to Charles Logan. This is assuming he's dead at the end of Season 8, which I think will be the case. It might be because Aaron asked Jack to do it as he is in a bad state himself, and will only give Jack what he needs if he breaks Martha out.

I realise something similar was done in Season 3 where Jack breaks Ramone Salazzar out of prison, but that doesn't really matter. And as this is an even-numbered season, there will most likely be a biological threat going by the track record in Seasons 3, 5 and 7. So what could it be? I thought of terrorists acquriring weaponized powder and inserting it into the water supply. This would cause civilians to get sick and die when they drink it. It would also act as an acid that would disintegrate skin when hands and bodies were washed.

This could be the most graphic of terrorist threats, and we know 24 for its extreme violence and realistic depiction of terrorism. Jack's nature of using extreme actions to get results could be put to the test, as he goes undercover with terrorists and convinces them to intentionally contaminate Martha's psych ward. After doing so, he reveals himself to be working against them and tries to arrest them. However he ends up shooting them after they try to escape, except one gets away. This is when Jack must call CTU for help to locate the terrorist as he must take care of breaking Martha out.

Once the psych ward staff discover some patients have gotten sick, HAZMAT is called and Jack is able to go into the pysch ward after meeting Dr. Sunny Macer there. He lies and says CTU was brought in on the case and she believes him because of the bio-weapon infection he recovered from with her help. Jack finds Martha, just as she has had a glass of tap water. He is agravated but explains the situation and Martha agrees to go with him.

As they are walking past HAZMAT areas, Martha is asking questions but Jack is reluctant to answer. Dr. Macer then receives a call from CTU asking of Jack's whereabouts because the terrorist escapee talked, despite Chloe trying to stop him from talking in order to aid Jack. Dr. Macer says Jack is there with her and CTU explains Jack is responsible for the contamination. Dr. Macer immediately orders Jack to be prosecuted. Jack then takes down several HAZMAT guards nearby. He and Martha then begin their long-awaited escape.

So does this sound like the beginning of a story arc worthy enough of being in the ninth season? Maybe it could be at the beginning during the presumed two-night, four-hour premiere, or it could occur later on in the season. Nevertheless, the purpose is to catch the 24 crew's attention so they don't cancel 24! If you have any ideas yourself, go for it.
