I think it's not a really well known sport outside U.K and The Netherlands

I know there's a league that plays at the local bar in town every Friday night, but I've never played much myself

It's a real big sport in The Netherlands and the U.K.
It's on TV every weekend too. (British League)

Yeah I play darts, even though I'm only 16 and not old enough to join a team yet so i can only place in Junior competitions and am playing at Berwick in a few weeks.

I only play at home, mostly 1,5 - 2 hours a day.

I was just at the local irish pub, and some drunk guy hit his buddy in the shoulder with a dart. it was pretty funny. Lol. Don't drink and play darts.
