They haven't announced it yet, they haven't even started filming, lol!

But they say it's going to be released once season 7 is over.

I guess they'll be able to pull it off, they filmed all of King Kong in New Zealand, and they had him climb up the Empire State Building! Shocked

I'm intrigued to find out how they incorporate the movie with the seasons and if the seasons after it include things form the movie.

Realistically the movie will just be a season shortened to 2 hours. They have to find a way to reinvent it to make it different. Similar to the Simpson's movie, they have to make it a movie not a quick season.

From what I hear, they are not going to make the movie in "real-time" as they do the show, but they are going to make it so it is the course of events of 24 hours squashed into a 2 hour time slot.

Hmm.. that'll be interesting. One of the main turn-ons (you could say) of 24 is the real-time. So i wonder how they're going to pull that off.

It's bound to be a hit though. Most people i know don't want to get into 24 because theres too many seasons/they don't like to start something in the middle/end. So the movies probably going to be able to provide them with that opportunity. Not to mention 2 full hours of Jack Bauer on a large screen Very Happy

You know when you're watching the show on DVD, and they break for an advert? You get the clock tick down, disappear, a few seconds of black and then the clock reappears, five minutes on, with some updated boxes showing where people are after the advert break?

I'm hoping it's like that, but with a few hours skipped instead of a few minutes. That way, you could still have real-time "segments" of the film, all linked together by the clock, until the final segment ends at the same time the first started, 24 hours later. We've got to have that ticking clock sound in the cinema!

The rumours about filming in London are true. Without real-time, you see, you could put Jack on a flight from Heathrow to Dulles in Washington and then just fast-forward until he gets there, rather than having six hours of watching Jack eat peanuts and interrogate the air hostess when he's not allowed that fifth scotch.

Or fly the plane from the baggage compartment...!

On a bit of a side not, I was actually in a movie with Kiefer called the Sentinel as a S.W.A.T. team member. Here's a pic. I'm the guy on the right.

I didn't talk to him but I saw him and michael douglas a few times.

After what was said about KS character not being a key player after Seven 7.

Jack Bauer will always be the centre of 24. Day 7 will be no different.

And yes, the film is going ahead, albeit slowly. No filming yet.

It was originally planned to be released in 2008, but plans to shoot the film have been put on hold, so they are unsure at the moment.

I think the main thing they have to worry about is to make it a movie and not just a season put into 2 hours.

I agree, it wouldn't be too great if they did that, and it'll be hard to leave cliff-hangers like they do in all of the seasons.

Hope it's gonna be a good movie, the series is awesome, don't want it to staind the name of "24".
