Sounds like a plan to me! If they really care and want to make it up to us, the loyal fans, then they could film seasons 7 & 8 simultaneously and kick off season 8 in Jan 09.

You think they could do it that quick? I mean, I want the show back as much as anyone here, but I also don't want them to rush it so much that quality suffers.

hey guys! this might cheer you up a little: in germany, they haven't even aired season 6 yet! (thank god, we can watch the dvds from UK!!!)
now go figure how long i'm going to have to wait for season 7 - till it's out on dvd in the UK!!!!

I've got season 6 now I've seen already three episodes.
Until now I like it, but you're people saying that the middle of the season is the worst,
so I will watch and tell you what I think about it.

You mention something that I have to wonder if it's really starting to be taken seriously:

Downloading and DVRing the shows - how are those "monitored" and factored into what is the overall fan experience and tallies that keep new shows around?

A show like say "TERMINATOR: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" has an excellent fanbase, is an excellent quality show, but if they don't see _insert number of millions of people watching_ off with the show's head.

It's something I think we really need to better understand as we get into an even more digital age in the coming years. I think that not being factored in has truly killed a variety of great shows WAY before their time.

A few of the new episodes of Heroes rated an all time low but was the most downloaded show on the net.

I live in Australia and i barely watch FTA tv now. They f*ck around so much with the shows i just download them all now.

I'm sick of it being on 1 week, off the next, on again for 2 weeks then back off for 1. Plus they're always weeks and months behind down here.

Depending on the show anywhere from 30 minutes and a few hours i think.
