What Is 24?Is this a TV show? How does it work? Please explain it all to me.

24 is an American television drama produced by Real Time Productions in association with 20th Century Fox. The first season aired in 2001. Season Seven is currently in production.
Each season of 24 takes place over the space of one day, or twenty-four hours, hence the title of the show. Events occur in "real time". What this means is that the story unfolds in a realistic timeframe: for example, if a character is fifteen minutes away from his destination, then fifteen minutes of the episode will pass before we, the audience, see him arrive. Each episode of the show is one hour long, including advert breaks, and there are twenty-four episodes in a season: 24 hours = 1 day. The constant presence of a ticking clock on the show ensures that real time is enforced... and also helps ramp up the tension.
The show is best described as a political action drama. Each day, a federal agent named Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland), working for the fictional Counter-Terrorist Unit (CTU) in Los Angeles, faces terrorist threats and protects America from attack. Characters in each season have almost always included political figures, including a President of the United States in five of the six current days. The battles Jack and others undertake are often personal in nature. The show has dealt with terrorist threats including nuclear weapons, biological viruses, assassination attempts and gas attacks.
24 has won multiple awards, including several Emmy Awards, for the best drama show on American television and Kiefer Sutherland's performance as Jack Bauer has won him several Best Actor awards. The show's music is composed exlusively by Sean Callery, who won an Emmy for his music accompanying the fifth season's final episode. Many of the show's guest stars are major Hollywood celebrities, and have included Dennis Hopper, Arnold Vosloo and James Cromwell.
The first five days are available on DVD in the States (Region 1). In the United Kingdom and Region 2 territories, the sixth season is about to be released on DVD. There is also a PlayStation2 game, featuring the voice talents of the entire cast, and a Hollywood film is in planning stages. Other media includes CD albums of the show's music, t-shirts, comic books, novels and action figures.

Correct answer. I can't condone illegally downloading or streaming episodes from websites, sorry. You'll have to buy them or ask for them for Christmas.

It is extremely important to watch it from Day 1 and in sequence. There are too many details that will not be clear otherwise.

You could also rent it! It's cheaper in case, god forbid, you don't like it. And you can get a disc at a time so you don't have to watch it in a week (mind you, you may start and not be able to stop)

If not this amazing thing called "illegal content" I'd still be at season 3! lol and my 24 show would probably finish with season 4 since Lithuania sucks.

none rents it here. they all even hardy know what 24 is. but friend of my mum's borrowed me 3-5 seasons, so all i downloaded was 6. but eventho i know this illegal stuff sucks, i still do it. sorry, this is what i am. downloads' rat ))

I can't tell you not to say you download content illegally, but it is against the terms and conditions to post links to places where you can download this illegal content. Posting these links will make the forum host (not me) take this forum down, if not permanently then at least until I or a moderator remove it.
Although I can't say I've never watched streamed episodes of TV shows online I watched season 1 of Heroes online, and seasons 1, 2, and lots of 3 of Prison Break.
As for 24, I borrowed season 1 from a friend, got 2 from Netflix, and borrowed seasons 3-5 from cp123.

Yep. That pretty much sums it up. Jack is amazing and anyone who messes with him ends up dead or wishing they were dead. And anyone except Jack can be offed at any time for any reason.
