The Palmer'sSuck in season 6.
Wayne is not President material and is probably the worst in the shows history.
And Sandra, well she's just ruining the Palmer name.
I'm only 3 episodes into re-watching it too.

Seasom 6 was my least favorite, all except for the opening 4 episodes; and the Jack VS Fayed fight.
I absolutely hated the Palmer family drama, and Sandra was a bad character; played by a really bad actress.
And, yeah, whenever DB Woodside tried to look presidential, it is almost laughable. He just didn't have the confidence to play president. I think the writers thought it would be a good idea to keep it in the family; but then realized a few episodes in they had to write him out of the presidency when he did pretty horrbly.

Yep... got to agree... Wayne was good in S3 and in S5, but in S6, I think they "pushed" it a bit too far to make him the president...
Sandra was probably the WORST ever Palmer they could thought off... Her story line was not good at all...
I've got to say the David Palmer and Sherry Palmer was the best plot for the Palmers as of yet...

And speaking of Wayne. I noticed he was wearing a ring on his left hand where normally a wedding ring would go.

Wayne had his moments as president, but also, the writers had to make him look weak so we believed that Daniels would be able to overthrow him with the 25th amendment.
Sandra's story line was weak, but definitely necessary to have one of the Palmers there to give the doctor consent so that Wayne could be taken out of the coma. The more I think about it, I really do like season 6.
