Swearing in the MovieDo you think there'll be swearing, or should be swearing in the movie? I kinda hope so. The stupidest thing in season 6 was when jack had to yell "SCREW YOU" at Assad. I mean, come on! Who says that! But on the other hand, I almost can imagine Jack swearing. We've never heard too much out of him except in the special bonus thingy in the season 4 season set. Anyways... what are your opinions on this?

I think Jack Bauer would swear. Lots.
But does that mean we should hear it? Probably not. The film should be in keeping with the show, and if we've never heard swearing on the show, why should the film be any different?

I agree with you, but then again, movies are a little more relaxed for what they can and can't include. And like I said, "SCREW YOU" just doesn't sound serious. It makes me want to laugh! Lol.

That's how i feel when i watch any TV show that can't swear.
As if you would say "you jerk" or anything like that, you'd tear their head off with profanities, i know i would
I don't see them sing swear words though, it's too far from 24.

I know, and I'm so torn over which side I actually agree with, but hearing Jack yell "SCREW YOU" while pretending to be a seriously pissed off motorist, it just doesn't work. Maybe they can meet in the middle and save a few swears for times when he's REALLY mad.

ah i thought this topic was like swearing in the president, like same thing!!
haha but yea, i think jacks gonna do the same thing in the show and the movie:
curse like a trucker while he's off screen.

Yeah i dont think they should add swearing just because they can, it just wouldt feel right, were not used to it.

Actually, I'm almost getting used to it because the current 24 Declassified novel I'm reading has Jack swearing pretty bad in it. It's really hard to get used to, but it's actually starting to stick.

I think he should swear, I mean, it's not really neccesary but it would help with the character. Can you picture a man like that in real life when a building gets blown up. "well son of a gun, I didn't make it. DANG!"
it just doesn't seem real lol. I just hope it isn't rated R because then I'm going to have to work on my parents to be able to see it

That's what fake ID's are for. I'm 19 now, but I never needed one cause the ushers at my theatre don't give a crap. They'd let a 12 year old into an R movie if the situation ever came up. I don't really care either way. I hope if it is R, it's not really bad, cause then I might not enjoy it as much.

I was about to post the same thing, but then I saw your post while scrolling down and decided to quote it.

I have a feeling that this will make the movie R rated in the USA, along with the violence

I'm not sure how i feel about swearing in the movie. But if they were to do it i wouldn't complain. It would add an extra element that the show doesn't have. Which would be good since then it wont be like a normal season.

I wouldn't complain, unless it was REALLY bad, like, Deadwood bad. But I think a little would make it that much more realistic.

Jack actually swears in the Season 4 Prequel when Erin is removing him from head of field ops.
"I can find my own f****** job, Erin. Thank you."
|
Josephine Marcus

Yeah, and it worked cause he was legitimately angry. I just wouldn't want it to be every other word is all.

How come no one is asking whether there would be naked chicks in the movie?
C'mon, after 6 seasons, atleast let them show something...

Nudity in 24? Interesting proposition . I know in the deleted scenes for S2 you get to see Kiefer's butt. I wonder if that will even come up when they're discussing the movie.

theres no nudity in the shows so why should there be any in the movie?
|
Josephine Marcus
|
Cause it's a movie, and they should take advantage of the fact they wont have FOX over their shoulder going 'you cant do that on TV!'.

Yeah, true.

I just hope they don't overdo anything.

And to differentiate it from the TV series. Otherwise it's a 2 hour season.
|

I heard its gonna be realtime only for the last hour of the movie, or something like that.

You'd thing the movie would be around 2 hours. So that would be 23 hours into 1 hour.

Something like that. It's just what I heard

I don't think it will work
|

It might be a little rushed, but I'm sure the writer's have thought about this and will find a way to make it work.

I hope he does because I'm sick of hearing all the damnits.

Me too.
I can just imagine Jack in a few years once they get more strict on TV swearing (if it happens)
*Jack has just been shot in the arm*
''Oh beans, it seems that I have been injured rather seriously, curse you villain!!''
|
whycantkimdie?

Yep, *Partner dies*
"Oh, fudge!"

How about S6 when he screams "SCREW YOU!". Makes me laugh.

Yeah, that was pretty funny and weird at the same time.
I can't see Jack not swearing.
Here in Aust. 24 is on at like 11:30pm, they are allowed to have torture, violence, and the rest but no swearing! Weird...
|
Josephine Marcus
|
Yeah, I always found that strange to have graphic violence, but no swearing.

There was a game that some people used to play, I saw a video of it on youtube, and for everytime Jack said "damnit" (which he says instead of a swear word) people watching would have to drink a shot.
In a later interview I saw with Kiefer, upon finding out about this, he insisted on saying "damnit, damnit, damnit" quite frequently throughout seasons four and five.

Yes, I saw that. I loved it
In a Season 3 deleted scene he actually swore at Erin Driscoll.
''I can find my own f**king job Erin!!''
I loved it, she deserved it aswell, I HATED her.
