So Tony's the New Enemy...This is for the discussion around Tony Almedia being the new enemy of Twenty-Four: Day 7.
Do you buy it? Why's he doing it?
More importantly, will Jack get to torture his backside into the stone age at some point during the season?
DSi
I don't buy it. I just can't believe that Tony could be bad!

...yet the trailer showing Tony crashing airplanes into each other is just, what, a mistake?
No, Tony's a badass. He always had a mean streak: now, I guess, someone shaved his head and he's mad about it. Either that, or it's something else which will come out in the wash during the first few episodes of Day 7.

I told you he was bad He can play the bad guy good as well.
Terri

No i hope hes not really bad, maybe he has to act bad for a little while but really he want s to help Jack lol, *hopeing.*

Undercover agent?
Perhaps the government faked his death in Day 5 so that he could go completely dark and start a new life with the terrorists in order to gain their trust?
And now, with the plans coming to a head, he'll be revealed as a mole and Jack has to save him?
Hmm. Somehow, I'd prefer it if he were simply pissed at the government and now out for revenge!
slade
Being a mole seems pretty plausible except if he was really a mole his name wont be Tony Almeida. Looking at that trailer we don't know if he is actually Tony or someone else.

I'm so glad that he's back.. he was one of my faves!

Wouldn't it be the most messed up thing if Tony somehow caught Jack and got to torture him? Man, that would be so weird cause Tony would know so much personal stuff about Jack.

Now that I would pay to see.

Now that I would pay to see. | Yep, that would definitely make for some good 24. I can just see it in my head now

That would make the season right there.
Or if they face each other in some sort of fight, gun fight..etc. It would be like a chess game.

It would be so weird cause of all the times Tony has saved Jack, and vise versa. They were actually pretty good friends, so they would probably be talking about that as they're trying to kill each other!

hmm... I never really did buy the whole "if they didn't get the silent clock they're not dead" thing.. So I hope they have at least a half believable reason why he's alive and evil.
Josephine Marcus
If it's some stupid or unbelievable reason I'm gonna be really angry. But I have great faith that the writers known what we expect of them and they aren't gonna let us down. I just can't wait to see what they've come up with.
whycantkimdie?
I cant see them giving a rubbish reason. They've had long enough to think of a good one!
Josephine Marcus
Yeah! Good point! If this season isn't insanely amazing I'm gonna be mad for two reasons: 1, they've had plenty of time to think of a good story and 2, they owe it to us for making us wait so long!!
whycantkimdie?
It definately looks the best. Jack in court, Tonys ressurection and no more CTU which will give the show a whole new look!
Josephine Marcus
Really, it won't be too much different for Jack. I mean, he's always rogue, so CTU wouldn't help him anyways.
whycantkimdie?
yeah still, It'll be a nice chaange than the normal stuff coz it was starting to wear thin the way the plot at CTU was repeated.
Josephine Marcus
It'll be harder to repeat themselves this time around, seeing as most of their recurring elements are gone from the plot altogether.
whycantkimdie?
Yeah its supposed to be at a more personal level this time, like season 1
Josephine Marcus
Not that Jack has any personal life left.
whycantkimdie?
lol yeah it left when tony died. Oh wait!
Josephine Marcus
No, all hope of a life died with Audrey. I think Jack is tired of trying by now.

I just can't wait to see what he gets to do to Tony! Torture? Kill?
whycantkimdie?
Or what tony does to him.
Josephine Marcus
Exactly. They have such a history it's gonna be very interesting to see what comes of their meeting.
whycantkimdie?
And the showdown on the boat that we saw in the trailer.
Josephine Marcus
Hmm... don't remember that part, but I think I'm gonna watch some more trailers later.
whycantkimdie?
when Jack yells "TONY!" when they're on the boat.
Josephine Marcus
Sure, I never saw that part that I remember. But I'll go watch it after.
whycantkimdie?
Tony looks so badass in that trailer.
Josephine Marcus
But he looks fat! I hope he's not fat! Hehe. Too much pasta?
whycantkimdie?
pasta?
Josephine Marcus
Carlos Bernard is Italian. Italians like pasta (The ones I know, anyways)
Terri
LMAO taking about using sterotypes
whycantkimdie?
I always thought he was spanish. So much for my knowledge!
Terri
lol i actually think your right, hes of Spanish descent
whycantkimdie?
I thought so cause Carlos is a Sapnish name. To much Paella then!
Josephine Marcus
Mmmm... Paella...
whycantkimdie?
I love paella!!!!
DSi

Anyway, I can't wait to see what comes of Tony being the bad guy...

tony got fat on being that mastermind terrorist and sitting down making evil calls all day
only those that work the field stay fit
whycantkimdie?
He dosen't actually look that fat to me.
Terri
lol me to, i didnt notice he was fat, i just noticed his hair lol
whycantkimdie?
and his beard.
Terri
Yeah i really dont like his new look lol
whycantkimdie?
They probly gave him that look to make him look like evn more of a badass.
Terri
Yeah but its not gonna work because i still refuse to believe hes really turned bad lol
whycantkimdie?
I've come to terms with it and I can't wait to see what he does to Jack!
Josephine Marcus
He has a buzz cut! And no soul patch!
slade
The evidence says he's turned so believe it.
He'll be as good as Nina. But i reckon at some point He'll have a conscious and do something good. Like spare a life or something.
Josephine Marcus
You think? Maybe it will be some sort of showdown like in S3 when Jack caught him trying to steal Jane and Tony made comments about how Jack 'let' bad things happen to Teri!
slade
At the end of the trailer we see Jack pointing a gun at Tony.
It would make the season if they had a showdown.
Josephine Marcus
That would definitley be a contender for the best finale ever!
slade
What am i saying "if", WHEN they have their showdown.
Like most of you know I really love those big patriotic speeches where they yell and get emotional. So i hope that happens.
Also, does anyone know how many years separates season 1 and 7?
Josephine Marcus
Oh god... I have no idea.
http://24.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline
This should help though.
slade
I have no idea how to understand that
But season 1 and 7 seems about 10 between years give or take a few. So he's lost his wife a very long time ago but he always talks about her dying because of him..etc I know it's huge when you lose a wife but it looks to me he says it a bit too much.
Also, it seems Jack is ion his 40's for season 7
Josephine Marcus
It's just over 8 and a half years.
whycantkimdie?
season 2 is 18 months
season 3 is 3 years later
season 4 is 18 months later
season 5 is 20 months later
season 6 is 2 years later
= 9years 8months

Yes that's right, and then the time until season7.
I still can't believe that tony is real a bad- guy
All his years of loyalty (with many problems caused by the government)
and now he turns bad because his wife is killed by bad-guys?
I can't imagine
Josephine Marcus
Yeah... Tony must have done another one of his rock bottom drinking things like in S4, but I hope he still didn't have that annoying girlfriend...
whycantkimdie?
Yeah lol Jen. She annoyed me, but mind you, alot of characters do.
Sandervs

you can make a long list of them
