Season 5 DeathsSeason 5 killed off so many of our beloved 24 characters, but the season was just too good to be ruined by the deaths of those close to Jack and to CTU.Which death(s) affected you the most? I'd have to say David Palmer, he was such a great character and an amazing person and president, it was so sad to see him die

It was such a shock when David died after like 5 minutes of the season lol but i dont think it really affected me.
Although Edgars was sad as was his phone call to his mum i got over it lol. The only one that affected me was Tony, i really liked him, although i thought it was a pretty stupid way to die lol, it also affected me the most because of how Jack reacted to it, and we all care for Jack  lol

Edgar's death was also very sad, and it was so sad when he whispered "Chloe..." seconds before he fell to the ground. Tony's death was sad too because he was such a great character. | ||||||

I thought that he would've been the first to die instead of the last, because he was the closest person in all of CTU to the nerve gas when it was released. | ||||||

Hopefully if Kim comes back in season 7 Barry wont be with her. |

Edgar's was probably the saddest, especially Chloe's reaction to it.
David's wasn't overly sad, getting shot in the head isn't very sad and there wasn't a huge emotional reaction to it, not straight away anyway. In my opinion the saddest moments are like this, 1. Edgar 2. Tony/Michelle/David It's hard to pick. |

Yeah Davids death scene wasnt sad but the fact that he died was, i think it was more sad when Jack was watching the announcment on the news. |

I hated Season 5 - the entire season - it was the Charles & Martha pony show. | ||||||

I may have disliked some of the characters from season 5, such as Charles Logan and Martha Logan, but I think it is one of the best seasons!! | ||||||

The death that got to me the most was Tony Almeida. I actually cried, I thought it was so sad that he was defending his wife's memory and then, eventually, was too good to actually kill Henderson... and then Henderson kills him. And then Jack cried, which gets me going anytime...
You can imagine my reaction at the latest Day 7 news, then.

Where I come from, putting a white sheet over somebody is pretty much confirmation of death... ...but I'll try and keep open-minded about Day 7. |

Not after being injected with deadly poison, though... am I right? C'mon, you've gotta admit, the original intention was for Tony to die. Whatever they do with it now is their business, but it was written that Tony died. Just now because he didn't get a silent clock (because the previous episode had a silent clock) the writers are pulling him back. Even Jack said in Episode 23 that Henderson was "responsible for the death... of Tony Almeida". |

Meh: a clock's just a clock. I'm going to keep an open mind, I'll watch Day 7 and end up loving it, and eventually I'll forget the whole thing... but it's a big ask of the producers and has been handled (so far) badly. |

Jack was too busy to check back with CTU to see what was happening everywhere. Besides there was so much in Season 5 that didn't make sense & was totally impossible.
The clock has nothing to do with it. Yes the producers messed up big time - but who's to say to they didn't think in the back of their minds they wanted it that way - it certainly has been the talk since 5.13. They clearly proved it. Nor did they listen to Carlos when he reccomended Jack being the one to kill him. I've never given up the belief Almeida was still alive - there's a few of us who have said that. However, we all have to wait & see - after all this is 24 - I don't like to know what may or may not happen. I don't even like to know who the new characters are. |

I'm pretty sure it wasn't a deadly poison, I think it was the poison that Jack was using to torture Henderson, which did not kill Henderson after several doses. |

Wayne collapsed in the middle of a speech, and he was carted away by the doctors. Maybe he will show up in season 7? |

Okay, so maybe the poison wasn't "deadly", but a big needle shoved through your chest and into your heart can't be good for you, can it? The needle alone would have seriously injured him... add the poison, again, deadly or not, to his punctured heart and you've got death. No two ways around it.
I'm sorry, but Tony did die. Now, whether he survived death or not is another matter. Remember, Jack's been dead twice: once in Day 2, which left him with a serious heart condition; second time in Day 4, using an experimental drug to stop his heart. Both times he recovered or survived. Maybe the same happened with Tony off-screen... maybe. |

I've watched this scene several times - it never showed clearly where it went in his chest. And if you haven't noticed Tony Almeida in a tee - he is in great physical shape. |

Tony was shot in the neck in season 3, and was back working 100% within hours. I'm sure a fatal drug wouldn't stop him

What's this 'silent clock' everyone is talking about?
Maybe Jack thought he was dead but the syringe wasn't deadly, it just made it look like he was dead and later on he came back and CTU decided to put him in witness protection or something since people tried to kill him. |

The silent clock is an honor given to a 24 cast member when he/she dies. It is one of the highest honors a 24 character can get.
What happens is when someone dies, and the commercial or end of the episode comes, instead of the click ticking loudly like it usually does, it remains silent, for a more dramatic effect. I am just re-watching this one now. Have to say David Palmer getting killed in the first episode was a bit of a shock...and he will be a character sorely missed by me. | ||||||

He was always one of my favorite characters, because he was one of the only people to trust Jack no matter what everyone else thought. That's why I put him in the middle on the new banner^^

Palmer was definitely the worst death, Tony's 'death' was kinda crappy. I guess we know now why he didn't get the silent clock thingy. I didn't like edgar, I'm glad he's dead, but I'll miss Michelle... | ||||||

Tony was the saddest to see go.
It was soo awesome when it was like !!! YES HE's ALIVE. it was really good character development, that made me hate henderson sooo much that i felt it was personal, literally. if jack didnt kill him i'd have hunted down the actor... and then yea, id be some place where i couldnt post on these forums

Henderson was an awesome villain. Yes, I did feel it was personal by the time Jack killed him, but there was so much development in their pasts that made them have such a history. I guess that's also how they can make us feel so much with a character. | ||||||

Yeah i totally agree, i loved Tony and missed him once he was gone, but his death was just pathetic IMO. |

Or Tony had a gun instead of a syringe and actually was gonna kill Henderson and Jack came in just in time and shot Tony then Tony dies in Jack's arms and then a silent clock. | ||||||

I think we're all thinking it would've been the stuff that Jack used to pretend to be dead.
Maybe someone switched the syringe with something else. Or maybe he and Henderson were working together 
What other possible reasons could it be? Maybe someone revived him somehow when he was taken away. It's bound to resort back to Michelle in some way though. |

How about that Tony is actually dead and that someone is just using his face and voice like in Mission impossibe. I mean the actor Carlos Bernard will be back for the show but not as Tony Almeida. Someone else wearing his mask.... Think about it... |

I kinda saw it coming. It wasn't so sudden, like Palmer's. The struggle scenes always drag a little and I don't find it a surprise who gets pegged off. Palmer's just came outta freakin' left field. | ||||||

It would be funny if they didn't explain it at all. Tony just says "don't worry about that, it's not important".
They could save the explanation until the season final. But it would have to be a very good reason. |
