Most Heroic Death?I'm gonna say Gael
after hearing about this crazy-ass virus that's insanely dangerous, im surprised he didnt take a gun to his head after getting a full dose of this in his face. gotta hand it to him, this guy has guys

Either George Mason (piloting the nuke into the Mojave to save LA) or Lynn McGill (running through certain death to save Jack's room).

you're right, tough call
but lynn had it coming in the fact that he was insane, and george was gonna die anyways.
All Gael had against him was he was an assumed mole for a short while, he kinda took it the hardest.
slade

Lynn McGill was the reason he had to sacrifice himself so not that heroic.
Terri
Gotta say Mason, and that whole scene on the airplane was one of the best scenes ever
Josephine Marcus
I have to agree that mason would be the most heroic
slade
I'd probably agree with Mason.
Gaels wasn't as heroic since he had the gas in his face, Mason actually flown the plane knowing what he's doing. Gael got caught off guard.

It wasn't a question of how, it was when. If I knew my days were numbered I'd probably have done that. There's no way in Hell George would have done that if he never got sick. He proved that he was out for himself when he tried to flee the city, and that's what he got for it.

your right, it was george

It has to be Chappelle. Mason was gonna die anyway, Gael didnt know he was gonna get a faceful of Cordilla Virus and it was Lynn Mcgills fault the Sentox was released in the first place
slade
Forgot about Chappelle.
Same thing applies though. He knew he was going to die one way or another. But he chose to go out honorably instead of running. Though, he did try.

Josephine Marcus

Everyone keeps forgetting about Richard Walsh. He had a somewhat heroic death.
DSi
I'd have to say George Mason, after all, he saved Jack's life!
slade
Who's Richard Walsh?
Josephine Marcus
S1, him and Jack went to a federal building to get some information and were ambushed. It's the scene with Jacks first onscreen kill
slade
Wasn't that just outside the building and a sniper got him?
Josephine Marcus
Yeah, it's been a while but I'm pretty sure that was the part
slade
He was the guy that told Jack about the attempt on David Palmer in the first episode of Season 1. I watched it the other week
Josephine Marcus
Okay, now it's coming back. Yeah, I still think that was a pretty emotional death. Even Jack looked so heartbroken.
whycantkimdie?
He was the first good guy to die on 24
Josephine Marcus
Yeah, poor Walsh. I wish he would have been in more episodes. He's in a lot of the novels so far and he gets some pretty good storylines.
slade
I still think Chapelle's death was pretty heroic.
whycantkimdie?
His [Chappelle] was the only death where he wouldnt have died anyway.
slade
Even though he tried to run and ended up crying it was still pretty heroic.
I can't recall any character that has voluntarily sacrificed himself. One who wasn't going to die anyway.
Josephine Marcus
When I was watching it I was like 'There's NO way Jack's actually gonna shoot Chappelle. Obviously someone is going to phone him at the last minute and tell him they've tracked Saunders down.... Any minute now... anytime now, someone's gonna phone... SOMEONE FRICKIN' PHONE NOW!!... '
whycantkimdie?
Ye even when he shot him I didn't believe it until the silent clock.
Josephine Marcus
I didn't believe it till the bad guys confirmed it was him (and when I saw Jack crying in the helicopter in the deleted scenes)
whycantkimdie?
Ye I'm glad that scene got deleted coz then we would have said the ending was a copy.
Josephine Marcus
A copy? I guess so, but I think it was a pretty good scene to show how upset Jack was by what he had to do.
whycantkimdie?
It was almost identical to the ending
Josephine Marcus
Yeah, but it was still a good scene. And it showed that even though jack and chapelle butted heads all the time, jack was still obviously upset.

aren't we forgetting about Milo, when he saved Nadia Yassir's life??
whycantkimdie?
Oh yeah, well remembered!
I'm actually quite suprised he didn'y get a silent clock as the built up to the death was the same as bulid-ups to other silent clock deaths.
willielwgg
I was surprised in that also, i forget some of the characters who got silent clocks
theres:
Ryan
the person that sean astin played
George
Edgar
and thats all that i can think of
Josephine Marcus
I'm pretty sure Ryan got a silent clock... but I could be wrong.
slade
He mentioned Ryan.
I'm watching Season 3 again anyway so I'll tell you when i get up to it. I just watched the episode where Bauer gets taken on the plane with Ramone.
Josephine Marcus
Oh! Crap, I'm tired. NV, your right!

Sean Astin played Lynn Mcgill and he didn't get a silent clock. You missed out Teri.
Josephine Marcus
Lynn didn't deserve a silent clock.
slade
Milo's was probably one of the more heroic ones. He should've got a silent clock. But he wasn't a main character or a very important one so.
Josephine Marcus
But he still sacrificed himself. I think he should have gotten one (unless he's not really dead, and season 8 has an evil Milo!... I sure hope not...).
slade
Considering we saw him get shot in the head and bleed on the floor i very much so doubt he'll come back
I didn't like Milo in season 6. He was much better in season 1.
whycantkimdie?
Yeah I agree
slade
Gael's death was pretty heroic. He died trying to stop the virus getting out and got a face full of it.
Josephine Marcus
Gael was awesome because i thought he was the bad guy a while. then he wasn't!
whycantkimdie?
Yeah triple agent lol
Josephine Marcus
Triple? Explain
whycantkimdie?
Well double agents are moles working for terrorists like Nina.
But Gael was working for CTU whilst terrorists believed he was working for them instead of CTU.
I didn't expain that very well did I?
Josephine Marcus
I understand a double agent being someone who works for both sides. I just don't get the triple part.
whycantkimdie?
the bad guys think he's working for both sides when actually he's working for CTU
whycantkimdie?
oops I just pasted my last post sorry
Josephine Marcus
oh...

Tony's Crony

I think mason, that was a really really sad scene.. i loved george!

although i hated this guy, he was pretty cool in saving jacks life. dont really know if you'd call it a heroic death, he did die because he was shot but not really lol. Anyways, the guy I'm talking about is Paul Raines he jumped in front of the bullet which saved jacks live although he died because of something else, if he hadn't jumped in front of the bullet, he never would have died - kinda circular reasoning.
Josephine Marcus
It makes sense and it's confusing, all at once.
