24 on Fire

ya i cant wait for this one too. ending last one w/ jack framed was a good move from the bad guys. buys them a lot of time.
now that bill is gone , renee's role might get big, specially in this episode. her attraction has increased from the 1st episode to now i dunno if anyone else thinks the same. i would say she's the hottest 24 girl. she handles a gun the best out of all the other girls, and she's under 35 years of age i think. redhead, shes effing hot. hopefully she turns into a key part in the show
a new bad guy has to show up too. shouldnt catch the guy they were gonna interrogate, but a new guy might make a strong appearance.

I can't wait either, it's funny to wake up and be happy it is Monday.

I agree about Renee, she has been a great addition. She and Jack has the most chemistry than another female IMO.

And Senator Mayer was growing on me....
Anyway, epic episode. The whole sequence between Jack and Quin was sick. I don't know how I'll be able to wait until next week....

My, dude, yo, that fight was f*cking sick. He stabbed that dude in the gut and then picked up a big ass wooden stick and smack in the gut while the screwdriver was still in him...
DAMN...
This episode was full of DAAAAAAAAAAMN moments.

I'm still wondering when Kim is coming back in this season. I think Jack kinda foreshadowed that during his conversation with the senator.
All in all, beast of an episode. The final fight probably just went to the top of my all time favorites in 24.

This season keeps getting better and better.
Don't even know where to start. The dialogue between Jack and the Senator was incredible! Seems like he was just starting to understand Jack. Then....BAM!!!!!!!!
I did NOT see that one coming with Quinn killing the Senator.
Annie Wersching--I can't say enough about her. Her portrayal of Renee Walker is outstanding. You can see how conflicted she is, yet still trusts Jack.
I think Janis is dirty. She and Larry were the only people who knew Jack went to Mayer's house.
AWESOME fight scene between Jack and Quinn. You could just see the intensity on Jack's face.
And then, there's the INCREDIBLE Jon Voight. His speech was so chilling, I actually found myself shuddering. He has been on screen this season for maybe 7 or 8 minutes, but he has become a great villian.
9.5/10.

Welcome back to classic 24! This episode brought back those great scenes of Jack going rogue, and his fight with Quinn was reminiscent of so many fights throughout the show.
Fantastic episode

I thought this was an awesome Episode
Cant wait for next week..
A couple of things:
In response to justabills post: Quinn had a Police Frequency Radio, thats how he knew that Jack escaped the FBI...I just think Janis is plain stupid!!
I think that Tony wanted to tell Jack that he is already at the Port, looked like it when he was on his phone.
All in all, a 9/10 from me
Only thing that annoyed me was that Quinn had a silencer at Mayors House and entering the Yard for the final scene...but when shooting around the place...it was pretty loud for a silencer.....

I didn't see The Senator being killed. That one completely surprised me.
The end fight scene was good. Even better with Tony being brought in. Now they're a double act.
Only thing i didn't like about the fight scene was that Quinn was wearing a vest. A vest that would stop a bullet close range but not some construction tool.
Jon Voight's speech was badass.

A few things...
Jon Voight is such a grandpa-like character. THe entire "Let's play some darts", "Now we're having some fun" and "Tell them to pack their pajamas and toothbrushes. It's going to be a long night." I can't see him being such a...caniving, evil government Starkwood dictator...Sorry. My vocab is limited...I can't use colorful words.
wtfreak about Tony? He shows up in the last 2 freaking minutes, and he's at some Little Italy restaurant? Would he not, at least, be doing something useful?
And I was just starting to like Senator Mayor. I hated him in the beginning, the jerk, but he was starting to believe Jack, was going to help him, and Jon Voight kills him.
Larry needs to die. Well...at least get fired. Now he's hunting Jack down like an animal: "Shoot on sight." Yeah, let's kill the guy...considering the fact that there's a possibility he might be freaking innocent.
There wasn't enough Renee...I'm sorry, but she's my favorite new character. Nothing happened, except *Larry* "placed her in holding" (aka arrested. He's a jealous mess...he doens't want Jack getting his woman. So he ARRESTS her?)
The entire plot/conflict between Kanin and Olivia bores me. But I think that Olivia is a coniving...argh. Anyhoo...that's all I have to say.

DANG that was a great episode! Definitely my favorite yet. The part where Jack overturned the mobile home Quinn was in was epic, I was outwardly laughing. I still hate Janis, but unfortunately Renee is growing on me. >.>

I think the episode was not that exciting. To me only the last 10 or 15 minutes were very good. But you tend to forget the rest of the episode if the ending was that great.

Larry decisions are just plain stupid. His 'shoot on sight' doesn't make any sense at all. The writers went a little overboard.

He did 'kill' a U.S Senator.

The bulldozer was amazing, haha.
What was funny about this episode was Quinn's cellphone on "Press-any-key-to-reveal bad-guys-safehouse" mode.

Larry doesn't know if he actually did that. Larry's also not sure that Jack killed Burnett. So to start a 'shoot on sight' hunt based on no evidence at all is just plain stupid and wouldn't happen in real life (I hope).

you'd b surprised how tenuous your hope is (tho i share it!). remember, "Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely." the higher up the food chain, the hungrier 4 power the predator gets. (hence my username.)

Based on no evidence at all? Jack being in a locked room with Burnett with a dozen FBI agents outside isn't strong enough evidence to suggest he did it? Them finding out Jack went to the senators house and to arrive to find the senator dead isn't more evidence to suggest Jack's gone AWOL?
The shoot on sight thing is infuriating for us because we see it so many times how Jack is defied by the government he is trying to protect but you've gotta remember that Jack is armed and dangerous so if this was real-life it would be highly likely that such an order after 2 deaths that he is strongly linked to would be given.

Okay, they have something on the murder of Burnett, although Jack explained to Larry what happened and he didn't say he doesn't believe him. But I was more talking about the second murder, on the senator. They have nothing yet. They don't know if Jack has actually been there and I can go on for a while. And because of the murder on the senator, Larry starts a shoot on sight hunt.
And I do believe that it's still innocent until proven guilty. On the other hand, I do believe a large part of the police in the USA seems to be somewhat triggerhappy.

Renee will be seriously pissed with Larry when she finds out that he's ordered a shoot on sight.
Chloe will be seriously pissed with Morris when she finds out that Larry's ordered a shoot on sight.
Love hurts.
On a totally unrelated topic, I hope we see more of Prescott...

Hola everyone! I'm new here but have watched all episodes of 24. I loved Monday's episode and am needing Monday to get here soon!
I do have one quibble with the show itself. Why is it that even after Jack Bauer proves again, and again, and again, that he's always right about judgement calls, there is always someone in a higher up position that never believes him until the stuff goes down? I'm a littlle tired of this theme. Don't get me wrong, I hope 24 goes for 24 seasons but although I get the radical and insane levels of surrealism, I don't get how Jack is constantly questioned and doubted.

That's the way the writers hope to get the viewers to get angry and watch the show even more, just to see a happy ending.

I hear ya but that theme is more tiring for me than frustrating. Like I said, I definitely love the show and will probably see it out til the end whenever that is but I think the writers need to tighten it up a little bit.
Someone in this or another thread mentioned the cannister in Burnetts room disappearing magically and also I want to point out that Mayer was obviously shot at the front door so why the hell didn't they figure out that the broken glass in the door Jack jumped through doesn't make sense? I think any FBI or even Metro Cop could figure that one out?
Sorry to sound like I'm whining because I'm really not but these are holes that need to be plugged. Surrealism is one thing but total lapses in observation is another.

I've just seen the episode and I think it was great..as usual, if somebody tries to assist jack, well he's dead (I'm thinking of senator Mayer..)
By the way..I noticed that at the beginning of the episode jack breaks a carwindow to enter a car parked, but in the next scene the same carwindow seems to be intact..maybe I'm just blind, so is there anyone else who noticed that?
(ps: I really hate Larry..so stupid man!!)

I re-watched it he actually breaks the back window and reaches in and unlocks the door. It's a 2 door car and the back window is an angled quarter window.

Son of a B, I was starting to like senator Mayer and then that that dude Quin showed up unexpectedly and killed him, WOW. Am I the only one that notices this that when Jack is in a fist fight and starts to lose, he'll grab an object or something, for example a knife to win the fight?

Jack's a wimp Jesting.
Where did he get the knife, anyways? It just happened to be there, he just happened to see it? Plus, Quinn was wearing a vest...that can prevent bullets but not a knife?
Whatever.

It looked like a screwdriver to me which would be commonplace on a construction site.
Also if you watch the scene again it doesn't penetrate to deeply at first, it's when Jack whacks him with a big ol' plank of wood and he lands on his chest that it goes in. If you look he makes a noise when the wood hits him and then again when he lands on the screwdriver.

I thought this episode was great, the fightscene between Jack and Quinn was absolutely awesome. Larry's acting like a complete jerk, but I felt so sorry for Jack when Mayer was killed (now I really didn't see that one coming) as again it looks like he's at fault. =/
I think Jon Voight's character is awesome. He's such a good actor and despite having a short airtime, he's come across as a nasty piece of work.
Also good to see Tony back.

Of course, but people like to find stupid errors of the creators of '24', which aren't errors of course after you've told them how it works.
