24 ClichésThey're not exactly worldwide clichés but more 24 orientated.
The first one that irritates me a bit is when Jack is in a conversation and his phone rings or someone says something and he'll look down, then left, then right, then another direction. I'm sure you know what i mean. It annoys me a bit.
Another one is every season someone will always say "There's a nuclear bomb thats going to be detonated in the city" or whatever situation it is. I hope you get what i mean by that one.

Every bad guy gets a presidential pardon, thats very annoying lol

"I give you my word" - the most overused phrase in 24
"you understand me?" - the second most used phrase
thats all i could think of, 24 is such an original show

They use pharmacutical torture too much
Sandervs
Agree, but I think it is the fastest way to let them talk.
Or just using there family, I like that much more.
Tell me, or you're son will die!!!
whycantkimdie?
Yeah the Syed Ali interogation, thats my fav.
Sandervs
Absolutely, the way Jack played that scene was awesome.
The way he used Stephen Saunders daughter
to let him tell we're the last bomb is, is great too.
Not an interrogation scene, but real great.

I love how Jack always asks Chloe to do something, but then she makes some remark about how she absolutely can't, then Jack demands and says something like 'Just so this one thing for me', and somehow Chloe magically does it. And yet he hasn't ever really paid her back.

Except when he saves her life.
whycantkimdie?
Yeah at the start of season 5.
Sandervs
That's the only time he paid her back, so far I know

In a show like 24, saving someone's life is like giving him 20 bux...
Josephine Marcus
Lol. So true
Sandervs
saving a life can't be payed back

He saved one of her friends at the start of Season 4.
artur2060
Yeah, I know. I mean that in the show, people save other people's lives all the time.
Trust me I know how it feels like when your life is trusted within someone else.
All I'm saying is that in the show however, it's not very valubale to some people.

Jack has saved all of America how many times now? A lot I think. But I just mean about paying Chloe back for getting her arrested and fired and such.
Sandervs
Okay, but he was always trying to get her back
slade
When did he get her fired? Everything has worked out fine for her.
Josephine Marcus
Well, I think she got fired in S4, but when Driscoll resigned, Michelle brought her back. There have been other times too.
artur2060
Yeah like the time in season 5 when Miles and Karen Hayes fired her and she went to work in Buchanan's house

I don't think she was fired then. I think she left for some reason.
But she's only been fired for less then a day at a time.
Josephine Marcus
But the point is, Jack asks her to do illegal stuff, she does it for him, then she never gets paid back directly.
artur2060
Maybe she does between the seasons
Josephine Marcus
Maybe... but what kind of payback?
artur2060
Yeah, what can he already give her?
I don't think Chloe expects anything from him either since she understands eventually that she's doing the right thing
Sandervs
May if she get a friend and that friend get problems, Jack could help her.
artur2060
Yeah but he would probably help her anyway
Sandervs
If he could help her, I'm sure he will help her
