Mary Lynn's got some kinda personal realtion with one of the producers, it seems. Though, I actually like her character. I always pull for the underdogs, and the characters i know everyone else is annoyed by.
But, yeah, she's definitely in touch with the right people to have lasted so long on the show.
Oh come why does she bug you guys? Ok she's not my favorite character ether but she helped Jack a lot and she was always loyal to him She's one of the good guys (girls...whatever)...

I disagree. She's just playing the right character. Jack needs at least 1 person that sticks by him til the end. That's her.
She was a bit of a bitch early on though. She's a lot better now though.
